Overview

The final product sand is stored in warehouses at the Bunbury Port (Berth 8 – Bulk Materials) prior to loading onto 55,000 ton capacity vessels.

Ship loading is normally completed at a rate of 1,500 tonnes per hour.

Product can also be loaded directly onto the vessel by discharging trucks via a road hopper at the warehouse.

All vessels are inspected and surveyed once berthed to ensure the cleanliness of the vessels before the commencement of cargo loading.

All port ship loading facilities including conveyors and hoppers are washed and inspected before loading commences. Shipping samples are taken as ships are loaded.

See Port of Bunbury  for specific information on berthing at Berth 8 and services and facilities at the Port of Bunbury.
